Antler Carvings
ANTLERS, A RENEWABLE RESOURCE
Each year antlers grow and are protected by a layer of "velvet." In the autumn the
velvet is rubbed off for the fall rut. During the winter the antlers are shed and by the next spring
the cycle begins again.
